The National anthropological museum is a scientific, educational and cultural institution, presenting the anthropological studies on the Bulgarian population and on thоse people, who lived in contemporary lands of Bulgaria in the past. Exponated in the background of the historical and cultural development and flourishing religions throughout different epochs are the physical types of people and information about their diseases and injuries, that left a trace to the bones of people, and healing and ritual practices influences. In the National Anthropological Museum one can see the reconstruction of the face and head of the Thracian princess from Vratsa, the head of the 10-th century metropolitan garrison Mostich, the head of two Bulgarian tsars - the Bulgarian Tsar Kaloyan and the Bulgarian Tsar Samuel, etc.
