An exhibition of works from the Third National Competition Poster-Kostadin Otonov

On July 22 in the Opened-Air-Gallery, next to Cabana Cinema in the Park of National Palace of Culture (NDK), the exhibition of works from the Third National Competition Poster Kostadin Otonov will open its door and will run till August 5, 2020.
The exhibition features posters designed to various social topics, among which “The Global Warming and climate changes – her and now”, 75 years since the establishment of the UN and 65 years since Bulgaria’s membership in UN.
Third National Competition Poster Kostadin Otonov is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of UN and 65 years since Bulgaria’s membership in UN. National Student Competition Poster Kostadin Otonov is organized by Tsanko Lavrenov National Plovdiv Art High School with the support of Bulgarian Ministry of Culture and Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The exhibition traces the development of the Bulgarian Army over the past 30 years. The event is realised on the occasion of the 141 st anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Defence and the 104 th anniversary of the foundation of the National Museum of Military History.

The National Archaeological Museum

For thirteenth consecutive year the National Archaeological Museum, together with 17 museums from the country, organizes the temporary exhibition “Bulgarian Archaeology”. The exhibition presents the most interesting and impressive discoveries and investigations from the last active archaeological season. Among the artefacts on display are gold, silver and bronze adornments, gold stamp-ring, fine ceramic anthropomorphic figurines, pottery vessels, silver coins, bronze figures, and many others. A total of 26 sites are included, illustrating the development of cultures in present day Bulgaria from the Palaeolithic (more than 40 000 years before present) until the Middle ages.

The Scars of War: The Lost Architectural Heritage of Sofia

The National History Museum presents immersive space “The Scars of War: The Lost Architectural Heritage of Sofia”. The exhibition will run until end of September.

With sensory impulses, authentic video footage, photo archives and emblematic exhibits, the visitor will be “immersed” in the period before and during the bombings, will wander through the calm and beautiful pre-war Sofia, will witness the devastating blow that war inflicted on the city and will experience the fate of the hundreds people who lost their homes. The memories of eyewitnesses, recreated by famous Bulgarian actors will complete the narrative about some of the most dramatic days of the Bulgarian capital.

The project “The Scars of War: The Lost Architectural Heritage of Sofia” was brought to life in partnership with the Bulgarian National Film Archives, and funded by the “Culture” program of Sofia Municipality.

Island of Music Concert Cycle.
The concert will take place in the Borisova Gradina Park – Summer Stage, on Wednesday - July 29, at 19:30. In the program: swing music compositions from the beginning of 20 th century. The entrance is free.
In case of unsuitable weather conditions, the concerts will take place in Sofia Largo. 
The concert is part of the Summer Cultural Events Calendar of Sofia Municipality.

Platform A6 – in the park behind the NPC
The hit musical Chicago at Platform A6 behind the NPC.
The musical had to take place on March 31 in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture.
The purchased tickets for the postponed event in Hall 1 are still valid!
The audience will watch the classic Broadway musical Chicago based on the play Chicago by Maurine Dallas Watkins, music by John Kander and the libretto by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse.
The license for the Bulgarian version of the production belongs to the Varna State Opera, which has invested a lot of artistic and professional resources to meet the requirements of the creators.

For thirteenth consecutive year the National Archaeological Museum, together with 17 museums from the country, organizes the temporary exhibition “Bulgarian Archaeology”. The exhibition presents the most interesting and impressive discoveries and investigations from the last active archaeological season. Among the artefacts on display are gold, silver and bronze adornments, gold stamp-ring, fine ceramic anthropomorphic figurines, pottery vessels, silver coins, bronze figures, and many others. A total of 26 sites are included, illustrating the development of cultures in present day Bulgaria from the Palaeolithic (more than 40 000 years before present) until the Middle ages.

The National History Museum presents immersive space “The Scars of War: The Lost Architectural Heritage of Sofia”. The exhibition will run until end of September.

With sensory impulses, authentic video footage, photo archives and emblematic exhibits, the visitor will be “immersed” in the period before and during the bombings, will wander through the calm and beautiful pre-war Sofia, will witness the devastating blow that war inflicted on the city and will experience the fate of the hundreds people who lost their homes. The memories of eyewitnesses, recreated by famous Bulgarian actors will complete the narrative about some of the most dramatic days of the Bulgarian capital.

The project “The Scars of War: The Lost Architectural Heritage of Sofia” was brought to life in partnership with the Bulgarian National Film Archives, and funded by the “Culture” program of Sofia Municipality.

An exhibition of works from the Third National Competition Poster-Kostadin Otonov

On July 22 in the Opened-Air-Gallery, next to Cabana Cinema in the Park of National Palace of Culture (NDK), the exhibition of works from the Third National Competition Poster Kostadin Otonov will open its door and will run till August 5, 2020.
The exhibition features posters designed to various social topics, among which “The Global Warming and climate changes – her and now”, 75 years since the establishment of the UN and 65 years since Bulgaria’s membership in UN.
Third National Competition Poster Kostadin Otonov is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of UN and 65 years since Bulgaria’s membership in UN. National Student Competition Poster Kostadin Otonov is organized by Tsanko Lavrenov National Plovdiv Art High School with the support of Bulgarian Ministry of Culture and Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
