CapitaLiterature 2019

The Red House, Pavilion 19, the British and American Studies Resource Center at Sofia University, the City Library
The 11th edition of CapitaLiterature will focus on contemporary immigrant literature. It will include writers and book editors, as well as literary managers of organizations and events that work to improve the environment for translated literature and pay special attention to the world in the context of the largest migration crisis since the Second World War. Literary professionals from Bulgaria, Germany, Ireland, the United Kingdom and the United States will participate in a diverse program of events carefully planned to serve the needs of the professional audience in the city and to attract the broad and youthful public.

Kuban Cossack Choir

Russia’s oldest music and dance ensemble – the world-famous Kuban Cossack Choir, will have their first tour in Bulgaria. The choir was founded in the city of Yekaterinodar, present-day Krasnodar, 207 years ago - on 14 October 1811, under the name of the Black Sea Host Singing Chorus. The ensemble includes over 100 singers, dancers and musicians. Artistic director and chief conductor of the choir is Prof. Viktor Zakharchenko.
All singers, musicians, dancers and soloists will come together for the the concerts in Bulgaria and perform the "Best in 200 Years".

SOCIETY OF SOUTH BULGARIAN ARTISTS – EXHIBITION

The Society of South Bulgarian Artists was founded in 1912 and it organized its first exhibition 105 years
ago uniting artists from the southern parts of the country. Some of the brightest Bulgarian artists have been members over the years. The exhibition presents a lot of unknown works as well as works of many forgotten or unnamed artists in the history of Bulgarian art. The project is realized in partnership with the team of City Art Gallery – Plovdiv and with the cooperation of the National Art Gallery, the National Academy of Arts, the art galleries in Burgas, Kazanlak, Kyustendil, Pazardzhik, Ruse, Silistra, Sliven, Stara Zagora, Yambol, Archives State Agency and Ivan Vazov National Library – Plovdiv.

Lili Ivanova

This year, the biggest sports halls in Bulgaria will be the stage for Lili Ivanova’s concerts. The residents of Sofia will have three opportunities to go to her concerts - on June 21, the outdoor concert will take place in the summer theater of Sofia, at Swan restaurant, Pancharevo and on December 8th and 9th there will be 2 consecutive concerts in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia.

5 KM RUN

Organized free 5 km run. Everyone can join regardless of gender and age (including disabled people, parents with strollers, as well as people with dogs on a leash).
*The main 5 km running track is located in Sofia, South park (Yuzhen park). The start and finishing lines are located on the main alley in front of the monument with birds.

Art of Advertising Festival

City Garden
The Art of Advertising Festival is organized by Young, Talented, Capable Foundation. Its focus is the creation of quality marketing communication by pupils and students for companies and organizations, outdoors in Sofia.
Its 2nd edition will take place on June 22-23 in the City Garden. The students will have the opportunity to recreate their work on real projects for leading Bulgarian and foreign companies as well as present themselves to a wide audience. The festival will enable participants to gain professional experience, create contacts, express and discover themselves, which will later help them fulfil their potential.
The festival is the only one of its kind in Bulgaria and is held under the patronage of Mrs. Fandakova. It is included in the cultural events calendar of the capital.
