The Sofia Opera presents a performance for the 70th anniversary of the restoration of the Bulgarian Patriarchate

The 70th anniversary of the restoration of the Bulgarian Patriarchate will be celebrated at the Sofia Opera House with the opera performance The Hermit of Rila. The event will take place on January 14, Sunday, at 11 a.m., in the Chamber Hall of the Sofia Opera House.

The events in the play take place at the end of the 9th and the first half of the 10th century in the central Sredets region of the then Bulgarian kingdom. The musical poem in two acts is a production by director Plamen Kartalov. The first meeting of the performance with the audience was in September 2023, under the open sky in the Tsari Mali fortress near Samokov.
