The sledding area next to the Aleko Hut on Vitosha already has enough snow and has been processed, which allowed it to be opened on February 1 to work during the school holidays until Sunday.

After that, the facility, which was launched 2 years ago on the initiative of "Sofia - European Capital of Sports", will be open throughout the winter every weekend from Friday to Sunday, weather permitting. The area is located in the immediate vicinity above the Aleko Hut, the path is signposted. The meadow itself at the border of the forest belt has been machined to offer an ideal sledding slope, and at the finish ends with an anti-slope for stopping.

The sled zone is part of the desire of Sofia Municipality for people to live actively, to play sports, to indulge in physical and fun activities in the winter, to enjoy the emotions that the mountain provides. The goal is to motivate children to get to know and fall in love with sports and entertainment through unforgettable encounters with winter disciplines.
