Sofia International Film Festival is the largest film festival in Bulgaria and one of the leading film events in Central and Eastern Europe. It was held for the first time in 1997 and it attracts more than 85,000 spectators every year. Sofia Film Fest organizes a competition for a Bulgarian short film for the 19th consecutive year. Many of the leading names in the contemporary Bulgarian film industry took part in the competition, including Dragomir Sholev, Andrey Paunov, Svetla Tsotsorkova, Petar Valchanov, Boris Despodov, Pavel Vesnakov.
12 titles will be selected in the program of the short film competition of the 25th edition of Sofia Film Fest. The competition is open to all films with over 50% Bulgarian funding and a duration of up to 30 minutes, shot after January 1, 2020 and in accordance with the rules of the competition.
In January 2021, the 12 contenders will be announced, and the international jury of the 25th Sofia Film Fest will choose the winner.
The prize is worth € 9,500 (€ 1,500 cash prize and € 8,000 in post-production services) provided by Dolly Media Studio.
