A 7th Ice Rink in Sofia Complements its Ice Attractions

At the beginning of December, a new ice rink – “Yunak” (Champion), was officially opened in the center of Sofia. The facility is located next to Vasil Levski Metro Station and near Ariana Ice Rink. On weekdays at specific times, children under 12 years of age can ice skate there for free. The ice rink is an investment of the National Sports Base in the future of ice sports. The facility will be located there till the beginning of March when it will be relocated into Arena Armeec Hall as Sofia will be hosting the World Short Track Championship for Men and Women. Other ice rinks in Sofia include Slavia in the district of the same name, Sportna Sofia 2000 in Zone B-5 as well as the ice-skating rink in the Winter Palace of Sports in Studentski Grad quarter.
