The Ognyanovo dam is built along the Lesnovska river. Its water volume is 32,000,000 m3. It is one of the thirty most important dams in Bulgaria. It was built for the needs of the Metallurgical plant Kremikovtzi and for irrigation. It is named after the nearby village of Ognyanovo in Ihtimanska Sredna Gora. The place offers good conditions for recreation, water sports and fishing. in the dam you can catch the following species of fish : bleak, perch, caracuda, carp, river mullet, grass carp and more. It is allowed to set up tent camps in the dam area.
