Starting from Central Station and continues to Perlovska River. Crosses major metropolitan thoroughfares and squares. Rakovski Street is one of the oldest central, modern streets in the capital.
The street is familiar with many cultural institutes, raised on both sides, theaters, Sofia National Opera, the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts (National Academy).
Georgi Rakovski (1821-1867) is an initiator and ideologist of the Bulgarian national liberation movement. His activity served as an example for the next generation of revolutionists. Him belong the words: "We will give an irrefutable proof why we are the first and the oldest inhabitants of Europe."
